Anyone else here on Ravelry? I'm Dragon (of course) and by sometime tomorrow morning, I'll have the same avatar I've got here.

Fri, December 21, 2007 - 10:58 AMI'm on: www.ravelry.com/projects/artemisrich
I've been there for over five months now (and it rocks) but I still haven't gotten all my projects up, not to mention my stash or needles. That's what comes from having a two year old, I suppose!
Just found you and added! -

Re: Ravelry?
Fri, December 21, 2007 - 4:04 PMYayyyy!
Yeah, I think I'll put my current and future projects up, but I can't see adding old ones.
And I'm a little discouraged with having to link to Flickr for pics. So, no pics for Dragon's projects unless they update that.
I'm loving that radar feature!!!

Re: Ravelry?
Sat, December 22, 2007 - 11:17 AMTotally impressed, J. Your photography is very high quality, too.
Flickr was a pain in the derrier at first, but now I am used to it. I like Picasa WAY better. Then I am also using Adobe's free program--arg. I digress.
What I like BEST about ravelry is that if you knit up patterns a lot, you can see what happened when other folks knit the pattern, used different yarn, or changed the fit for their body. This one gal made a cardigan from Interweave that I thought looked super cute on the model, but it was a HORRIBLE fit (her body was shaped like mine). Very good to know!
I also like the stash trading possibilities. A new acquaintance told me that she was short one ball on a project, and she had bought the yarn 15 years earlier from a yarn shop that was gone, and the manuf. was gone too. Someone on ravelry had the EXACT yarn that she needed, and they did a trade. How cool is that? -

Re: Ravelry?
Sat, December 22, 2007 - 1:17 PMThanks Myrrhia.
I was using Picasa with blogger way back when, but I didn't feel like I had control over where the photos were stored with Picasa. Maybe it's better now. I like Flickr and the groups on Flickr.
I like getting ideas for patterns for specific yarns, and on the flip side getting ideas for different yarns to use with patterns. Ravelry is great!

Mon, March 17, 2008 - 9:48 AMIt only took me about 2 weeks, they invite about 800-1000 people per day, and with a waiting list of about 7,000, it shouldnt take too long...

Mon, May 5, 2008 - 2:06 PMI'm on (got there in May of last year) and I'm Tivity
Has anyone tried the newish experimental pattern search feature (www.ravelry.com/patterns/s...h/expanded) It's beyond cool!!! -

Re: Ravelry?
Mon, May 5, 2008 - 7:03 PMSo far, all I get is this:
Crappers. Okay - we're not perfect.
Looks like you've run into a problem. Sorry about that! We've emailed an error report to our code monkey. -

Re: Ravelry?
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 7:31 PMHere is the link, Dragon: www.ravelry.com/patterns/search/expanded
You can't put URLs in parentheses on Tribe because it will read the final parenthesis as part of the URL, which is why the first link didn't work.

Re: Ravelry?
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 12:09 PMNo, actually the new search engine isn't fully up and running yet.
I tried it last night, and when it works it's FABulous. Exactly what I was hoping Rav would come up with. (We all bow down before the Might of Casey.) Found a couple of great patterns I never would have seen without it.
It's not at the perfectly-running stage yet, though :)
