1824 Wool, Have you used it?

Anyone ever used 1824 wool? What did you make? Did you like it? Did you felt it by chance?

I am thinking of using it to make a felted purse. A few of you had shared some awesome patterns in this post:

I'll probably improvise a few different patterns. I want to use the Earth brown from the yarn link above, with some complementary stripes of varying widths.

The yarn is a nice price and just the tones and hues I wanted! : )

    I've used it, and I hated it. Felt to me like the carpet yarn we used to get at the 5&Dime back in the day...not much bounce or give to this yarn, so hard on the hands to work...scratchy, sheeny, splits easily (many plies). Won't use it again (and as you've discovered, it won't felt...but if you knit something in it (say slippers) that get a lot of wear and tear it will flatten down and be unrevivable.
