The knitting looms..
While I still favor the 2 sticks and string method. I do like these looms for making a project go fast.
At the moment, I have only mastered it in stockinette, but... all in all, I did a 5.5 foot long rectangular shawl in 3 days.

Re: Knifty Knitter
Sun, February 4, 2007 - 5:46 PMI LOVE my knitting Looms! I've got the Knifty Knitter round and rectangular looms... some different from Decor Accents and some from the Authentic Knitting Board Company. I've been thinking that Tribe is lacking in the Loom knitting realm! Maybe I'll start one... anyone interested?
I like working with needles... but I love the looms!
You can see some of the things I've done on them at my blog... www.crystalkini.blogspot.com
There are also a few free patterns that I've written there too!

www.macphersoncrafts.com/FreeP...il.asp some patterns, too. I got that off a google search, so there are probably more. I think it also comes in a straight loom for flat knitting?

Re: Knifty Knitter
Thu, February 15, 2007 - 3:31 PMI just got mine a few days ago. The largest one is HUGE! I didn't expect them to be so big. The largest one is 11", then 9", 7" and the smallest is 5". Haven't started anything on them yet as I have a few projects going and just started 2 socks together on 2 circular needles. Lets see how that comes along!

Re: Knifty Knitter
Sun, January 6, 2008 - 7:53 AMI have had my knifty knitter for about a year in a half and that is how I got started back into knitting from crochet. While it is not the same as the needles you can do things, like scraves and hats quickly and there are some many various looms out there in all shapes and sizes. I currently have 2 sets of KKs and all the long looms that KK puts out plus some wooden looms that are adjustable. It is also easy to show kids how to knit with the KKs, the only problem I am finding is that I have to wrap the yarn for each row and then my kids do the stitch. Someday they will do both, yea!
Also, there is a growing number of resources on loom knitting and several mailing lists, like on yahoo or knitters blogs that can be found for this type of knitting. The first thing I knitted was not the usual scarf but a pair of boot sock, but now I know what "short rows" are :)
BTW, I am a belly dancer too.
Have a great day!!!!!
