Does anybody know about the stitch called "cross stitch" here goes:
CO 50 Sts
Row 1: K1, YO rep from * across.
Row 2: *With yarn in back sl 4 sts as to purl dropping the YO's; insert left-hand need into first and 2nd sts on right had needle, pull them over the 3rd and 4th sts onto the left hand-needle, the sl the 3rd and 4th sts, then the first and 2nd sts: rep from * across
Rows 3-6 Knit
Rep Rows 1-6 for pattern
This is my question if you're dropping the YO's and the 1st st on Row 2 is a YO, HUHHHHH!!!!!!!???????
Help guys.
Also does this stitch have a different name. I tried looking it up because if I could see it I could figure it out. The picture I have is a really bad one.

Fri, September 14, 2007 - 9:59 PMAre you sure you don't knit or purl any sts on row 2?
Try this--
Row 2: Wyib, (drop the yo, sl1pw) 4 times, then use the tip of the left needle to pull the 2 rightmost sts on the right needle over the 2 leftmost sts on the right needle; slip the 2 sts off the right needle onto the left needle. (Here's where I'd expect you to knit or purl those 4 sts you just crossed.)
Basically the sts are elongated by the extra yarn of the yarn over. You're pulling the rightmost sts to the left, creating a crossed sts.
It's kind of like the "Left Stitch Pass Through Right Stitch" on this page
www.tata-tatao.to/knit/stit...index.html
but, you don't slip the sts kw, the sts are elongated, and there are 2 red sts and 2 green sts.

Re: Need help with this stitch
Sat, September 15, 2007 - 12:51 PMI was reading the replys in the knit & purl tribe and I agree the stitch count is not right. It's a 4 st pattern, but you've got 50sts. There's probably 1 k st at the beginning and end of every row.
Try this:
Row 1: K1, *yo, k1*; rep between *'s across, ending with k1.
Row 2: K1, *wyib (sl1pw, drop yo) 4 times; insert left-hand need into 1st and 2nd sts on right hand needle and keeping those 2 sts on the left needle, pull them over the 3rd and 4th sts on the right hand needle; sl 2 sts from the right hand needle onto the left needle; k4*; rep between *'s across, ending with k1.
Rows 3-6: Knit.
Rep Rows 1-6 for pattern -

Ding Ding Ding! You get the prize! I figured it out playing around with it. I also emailed the company and the emailed me within an hour! This confirmed I was right. As to the stitch count what I didn't relay in my stress was that the 3 sts on each end are K every row. It just goes to show you how important it is to write clear knitting instructions.
I'll post a picture as soon as I finish and hook up my scanner.
Thanks for all your help!
